Soil science (in practical, easy to understand terms!)
Variety selection ( zinnias are our bright workhorses, cosmos give us the romantic, dreamy touch, snapdragons transport us to Anne of Green Gables, feverfew does double duty as a medicinal and a fillers, and strawflower buds conjure storybook magic and last for years as bright, dried flowers…) we have been trialing different varieties for five years and know what grows well here in northern Colorado — and when to time your plantings!
How to build healthy stems and healthy blooms (where do you find organic, healthy nitrogen sources? And what is the best organic source of phosphorous? and which of these is applied when — and for what?)
Bed building (how to build soil and beds and how to irrigate)
Plant biology and plant care (how do you promote bigger and more blooms?)
